Meet Kate Green
Reformer Pilates / Functional Fitness Instructor
Following a 20 plus year career as a professional dancer and singer, which began in childhood with the Chisinau National Ballet and spanned global performances with renowned companies including Disney, Kate forged a new career path teaching Pilates.
She trained under Alan Herdman, the pioneer who introduced Pilates to the UK in the 1970s and one of the foremost international authorities on the discipline. After qualifying comprehensively in both Equipment and Matwork - thanks in part to the generous sponsorship from the DCC - Kate worked alongside Alan Herdman for over three years, further developing her skills and deepening her understanding of Pilates.
Having started Pilates as a young dancer to support her ballet training, the method has always been an integral part of Kate’s daily life. Today, she specialises in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and working with clients pre- and post-operatively. Her approach focuses on improving strength and body awareness through low-impact movement that benefits both physical and mental well-being.
Kate teaches in both London and Oxfordshire and also leads workshops and talks on Pilates, wellness and injury prevention. She has been invited to present at respected institutions including the English National Ballet School.
Staying true to her roots, Kate teaches with a classical and technical foundation, always with a modern twist.
